Pete Hopkins has been declared the grand prize winner of the competition “CODE BLUE” an eight week competition sponsored by Immergent Records and producer Mikal Blue. (Colbie Callait, One Republic etc) He will be recording his music with Mikal as the producer at Revolver Studios in the coming weeks. Hopkins recently won another national band search sponsored by the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame “Rock with the Legends.” He beat out 792 entries from around the world and was then selected from a panel of industry judges and Rock hall chair and commitee members as the grand prize winner. He shared the stage with some of Rock’s most legendary performers (Cream, Yes, Tower of Power, Deep Purple) opening the concert at the Koka Boothe amphitheater. Pete has had radio support on KISS fm as well as independent programmers and podcasts around the world. He was a featured local artist on 103.7 “The Mountain” and a special guest on the Bob Rivers Show at 102.5 KZOK while in Seattle, WA. He was a semifinalist in the renowned “US National Songwriting Contest” and a featured artist in the VH1-sponsored promotion “Rock Across America” He has had his music placed in both film and television, including releases from, Lionsgate Pictures and MTV networks. In 2006, Pete was ranked among the top 5 out of 100 finalists on NBC’s “Star Tomorrow” Pete was also a finalist in the Independent Music Awards. Since moving from Seattle to Los Angeles in 2004, Pete has garnered impressive reviews and radio support. He plays live at premiere venues all over the west coast including The Key Club, The Mint and The Viper Room in LA and is regarded by fans and musicians alike as a major talent poised for a lifelong successful career in music. Armed with powerful songs and an undeniable voice, Pete’s music has been proven to appeal to a wide demographic and broad range of audience. He has immersed himself in his craft, spending years studying guitar, voice, bass guitar, piano and drums. In addition to his skills as a writer, Pete is also an accomplished engineer and emerging music producer. The talented songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist, sings, composes and performs on Guitar, Bass, Piano/Keyboards and Drums. The two constants in his life have been love and music. Born in Colorado, the offspring of a caring and musical family, Pete was singing songs at age two and received his first guitar at age seven. His natural gifts for music were recognized very early on and nurtured in every way possible. Pete draws influence from a wide variety of music including The Beatles, Stevie Wonder Chemical Brothers, Garbage, Steely Dan, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Williams, Bach, Metallica, Jeff Buckley, The Doors, Jamiroquai, Joe Satriani, Al Dimeola, Timbaland and Dr. Dre, to name a few. Pete’s goals are to write, record and perform, continuingly challenging himself to explore his heart, the hearts of others and express this through his music.
