Out To Sea

Yacht rock has a new ambassador in Pete Hopkins famously known as the artist who can and does defy genre classification with ease and mystery. Hopkins’ blue eyed soul tinged vocals tell a touching story about his departure from a new love for a musical journey on a ship “out to sea” and the inner struggle of weighing the odds of what this may mean for their relationship. Produced by Pete Hopkins who played all the instruments and backed by r&b singer Brian Cody on Background vocals. Out to Sea is as poignant as it is catchy. Out to sea also debuts Pete Hopkins on the tenor saxophone, an instrument he picked up during the pandemic. Pete Hopkins’ new romance also happens to be the director of this video, Pamela Manning. They are a dynamic duo who fuel each other’s fire.

Out to Sea

Words and music by Pete Hopkins and Brian Cody

Remember Me
I don’t know if we can make it
Time and space always bring changes
Can we still grow separated
Or will we cave and let it break us
Separated let it break us

Will we survive
These cold nights
Without each-other’s embrace don’t cry
Can we endure the rising tide?

Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
And I don’t know my (I don’t know)
My Destiny (my destiny)
Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
I hope when I return (I return)
You remember me (remember me)
Yeah yeah

You knew on the day I met you
It may come to when we had to
Say goodbye and go our own way
I try to keep those thoughts far at bay
Separated… don’t let it break us

Will we survive
These cold nights
Without each-other’s embrace don’t cry
Can we endure the rising tide?

Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
And I don’t know my (I don’t know)
My Destiny (my destiny)
Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
I hope when I return (I return)
You remember me (remember me)

I am leaving shallow waters
slipping further faster farther
I am trying to keep steady
if I fall would you forgive me

Will we survive
These cold nights
Without each-other’s embrace don’t cry
Can we endure the rising tide?

Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
And I don’t know my (I don’t know)
My Destiny (my destiny)
Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
I hope when I return (I return)
You remember me

(Please remember me)
Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
(Please remember me)
And I don’t know my (I don’t know)
My Destiny (my destiny)
Now I’m going (going out)
Going out to sea (out to sea)
(Please remember me)
I hope when I return (I return)
You remember me
Please remember me
